Nature
All Indigenous cultures live in harmony with nature.
For example, the Hopi, the North American tribe, refer to Huruing Wuhti, the Earth Mother, who represents the essence of life and fertility, and so influences many aspects of life, like agriculture and the community’s spiritual well-being.
‘Everything is connected, so what you do to others you do to yourselves.’
All cultures hold Earth, Water, Air and Fire, the four physical elements, as essential to all life. They are used in many different ways.
Some cultures add a fifth element: the ether or Spirit. Rudolf Steiner, a German mystic, separated it into the four ethers: warmth, light, sound, and life. They are the higher forms from which all physical life descends or manifests.
